V1 LIFE lets subscribers connect with trusted people, send safety alerts, and share available location updates during an active alert. A trusted recipient can receive an alert without a subscription, and a phone or email recipient does not need the app or an account. V1 LIFE does not contact emergency services or guarantee that an alert will be delivered or answered.
Information we process
- Account identity: the identifier returned by Sign in with Apple and a name if you provide one through that sign-in flow.
- Device and session information: device-scoped account and session identifiers and a push notification token so we can authenticate your device and send app notifications.
- Trusted recipients: pairing requests, accepted app connections and their status, plus names and phone numbers or email addresses that you save for external recipients. An external phone contact's name and number are sent to the service when you create an SMS invitation. The service stores the invitation relationship, pending or confirmed consent status, confirmation time and opt-out event. The recipient must text JOIN with the invitation code before safety SMS can be sent; they may text STOP to opt out. External recipient details are also sent to the service when used for an alert or Safe Check.
- Safety activity: alerts, test alerts, Safe Check status, delivery and acknowledgement state, and the times of those events.
- Location: a location fix may be requested to assess readiness. During an active alert or Safe Check, available precise location and movement updates may be sent to the service and shown to the trusted people connected to that alert. Continuous location updates are off during normal use. Location availability and accuracy depend on your device, permissions and conditions.
- Subscription status: Apple-signed purchase identifiers, product, expiration and revocation status, and a pseudonymous account token used to verify paid access. Apple processes the purchase and payment details.
We use this information to provide sign-in, trusted connections, alerts, app notifications, safety status, maps and account security. We do not use it for advertising tracking, and we do not sell personal information or location data.
External phone recipients receive V1 LIFE safety messages only after texting JOIN with a valid invitation code. Message frequency varies with the sender's safety events. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for support. We do not share mobile numbers with third parties for their own marketing; the SMS provider processes numbers only to operate delivery and consent controls for V1 LIFE.
Service providers and sharing
V1 LIFE uses Apple for Sign in with Apple, subscriptions, push notifications and the in-app Apple Maps view. The backend and database run on Render. A user may choose to open a location in Google Maps; that action opens Google's service separately. An accepted app recipient may receive alert details and available location even without their own paid subscription. When configured, SMS and email delivery providers receive the selected external recipient's phone number or email address and an alert message containing the sender's name, activation time, available location at send time and a secure HTTPS link. Anyone who has that valid link can view its alert page without signing in. The page refreshes during an active alert; stopping the alert revokes the link, and the link expires after seven days.
Your choices and deletion
You can control V1 LIFE notification and location permissions in iOS Settings, remove a trusted connection in the app, and stop an active alert in the app. To delete your V1 LIFE account, open V1 LIFE → Settings → Account → Delete Account and complete the fresh Sign in with Apple confirmation. The service revokes the relevant Apple token and deletes the account's active device sessions, owned alerts, Safe Checks, trusted links and active location history from its active database. It also removes the account from other users' trusted app lists. If you cannot access the app, contact support@v1life.app.
Retention and security
Active account and safety data remain in the service until removed through the implemented deletion path. When an account is deleted, its data is removed from the active database. The production database currently has a three-day point-in-time recovery window managed by Render, so copies of deleted data may remain in recovery backups during that window. We do not currently create separate logical backup exports. App account data is restricted to authorized sessions; accepted app recipients can view alerts sent to them, and anyone with a valid external-recipient link can view the corresponding alert until it is stopped or expires. No online service can guarantee uninterrupted availability.
